Looked it up, it’s the truth

My favourite is LP2 midnight purple pearl from some 90s Nissans, notably 300ZX and R33 Skyline. Would kill to own one, but they’re fantastically rare. It tends to look black, but comes alive when light hits it. Each generation of Skyline seems to have had a slightly differerent midnight purple.
